Sleeping like a baby
Last night went MUCH better. AQ helped me with the first feeding at 2:30. I think he only took a little over an oz. of formula. Like most other nights, he woke up 4 times to feed and fell back asleep pretty easily afterwards. I don't mind the late night feedings at all; it's good bonding time. It's all the fussiness in between and the early rising that's tiring. But he didn't wake up until 8:25 this morning! Yeh for Lincoln! As usual, he was up for an hour and now is napping. Here he is sleeping like a baby.

First Log
back log:
Tuesday, May 12th
Last night was rough! Ever since he's had a sleeping schedule, last night was the roughest night. I've got to re-read the Sleepeasy Solution and re-train this kid. His new found trick of being able to roll over is causing him to fuss in the middle of the night- he's rolling everywhere! Out with the pillows and blankets. He no longer needs a cozy sleeping bed, he needs an empty and safe area to roll around in! From all the fussing, I also sense that he is experiencing separation anxiety.
Lincoln is REALLY rolling over today. He loves it! He practiced all day- even in the crib! He's so excited about his new milestone that he doesn't even want to nap. He only took 3 half hour catnaps today. We'll have to do better tomorrow.
Lincoln had his first serving of Rice Cereal tonight! He seems to like it- we caught it on video!
Then we went for a walk to the mailbox in his new baby cap- makes him look like a soldier! But this little soldier was so tired from being up all day that he fell asleep before we even made it to the mailbox! Poor little guy.
When we returned, he got his bedtime routine: warm bath (he was floating in his tub today and was all smiles!!!), breastfeed, Goodnight Moon book, and then finally down in the crib.
Wednesday, May 13th
Lincoln is 16 weeks and 5 days old today- This Saturday (3 more days) will be his 4 month birthday!
Last night was another rough night.
I finally got the chance to read my Sleepeasy book this morning.
Notes:
Like other babies, at 4 mo, Lincoln is experiencing a spurt of alertness. Breastfeed in the glider, no distractions, allow grazing for now
Milestone of rolling over- he needs lots of floor time during the day to get it out of his system before bedtime
He is experiencing separation anxiety. Get him a lovey/teddy, play peekaboo
Naps- keep his room dark and quiet, stay in crib for at least an hour
