Open House!

September 11th
6 pm

Ms. Lizzie emailed that L "writes" good journals.  We were looking forward to reading his binder.

Carter entertaining himself.  Help, please!

Lincoln made this all by himself during Open House, with no direction at all.  You can tell Ms. Lizzie has set good procedure w the class!

He's taking Maderin this year w Ms. Lin:
Lincoln likes free so all his self portraits look like Frankenstein!

My 1st Grandparents Day

Mom, Dad, and Grandma met me at the house and I drove us to Lincoln's school to join Lincoln at lunch for his very first Grandparents Day.  I'm so glad Dad didn't flake out!  He must really love me- and our kids.  :)

As he was opening his chocolate milk, he immediately noticed that carter didn't have one so he quickly got up and grabbed one for Little Brother.  So sweet.

Lincoln observed the whole cafeteria as he was eating:  we have a whole table full of pp!  (Most had two families per table.)

What a special day.

Afterwards we stopped by Signarama

Getting the school routine down

It took exactly one month and one day after the first day of school that Lincoln woke up all his own this morning, the first time since school started.  Got rest in no time.  Guess he had enough rest since he napped after school yesterday.  School is tiresome for a little four-year-old!

Funny how it was only yesterday he cried for the first time getting ready in the morning when it was time to brush his teeth.  Then today he got up on his own, smiles and all!

Reminds me of how on the first day of the second week of school, he cried for me for the first time when it was time for me to walk out of the school,
then the next day, he wanted to be dropped off curbside and went into the school building (w the help of a teacher, but pretty much) all by himself.

Gotta keep in mind:  There's a dip before growth.

Costumes

Carter's Halloween costume came in last night:  just in time for Zoey's costume party tomorrow.  Quốc put it on for him; he was thrilled.  "Master Yoda!"  Where'd he get that from?

Lincoln was a little sad that he didn't get a new costume, but then got excited about putting on his Jedi costume- he hurriedly finished his chao (fastest dinner, ever).

He played with for a bit,

then and I put his costume on upstairs.

Here they are playing in our bedroom.

They ran downstairs to get the other light saber

We FaceTimed kaitlyn & Calvin
Then Kaylie
Showered, "The Fox Song" video, books, prayer, and lights out.
Sweet kids.

Sunday school

Lincoln is taking Việt Ngu at Holy Rosary w/ co Trang this year.  It's his second day.

Week 1:
He took notes in class w a his very own "personal tutor" since he's so little.  This kinder class ranges from ages 4-7.  Montessori-esque.  I like it.

His teacher, who also happens to be an acquaintance from college friends, said he didn't cry, raised his hand to answer questions thereby encouraging other kids participate.

On the ride home, he said:
A, sac a
B, a, ba.

How splendid!  I looked at his hw and its rigorous.  A quiz next week.

Before class today he worked on the hw.  I figured he'd throw up his arms halfway through, but he almost finished before he got tired.

Week 2:
On his quiz, he only missed 3.  He got the sac & huyen correct!  Well, he did have a 50/50 shot.

Class is from 12-1:15.  Then recess.  That's when we picked him up.

Here he is on candid camera:
Lincoln ran to Carter and played w him as soon as he saw Carter.
We went for wings after class.  Lincoln's first time finding a word in a word search puzzle:  rocket.
Next word, looking for "planet".
