Where the Red Fern Grows

I’ve been looking forward to reading this book aloud with you ever since you were born!  So pleased that we finally started last night.  I’ve not read it since I was about your age.

First five chapters, and it’s already such a good read.  Reading it again as an adult sure puts things in another perspective.  The protagonist is such a hardworking, dedicated young man.  He follows his heart.

Inspired by J.K. Rowling, Lincoln is writing his first Origin Story for the comics he's been working on the past couple of years... first draft using voice to text dictation:

Kitty Origin Story

One day I was strolling around in my owners house and my owner lifted me up Then he went to a place he calls a harbor.  There were a lot of suitcases there! We went on a ship and then we sailed across be icy blue sea then it rained hard! The boat shook! My owner lost grip of me and I fell into the icy blue sea. I almost drowned but another cat saved me, I wanted to say thank you but a polar bear chased her or him away. . .

I had just the time to run away!  I saw a blue streak across my white fur!! Just when I thought hope was lost. And my owner was gone, I needed him! But I saw two strange kitties I said hi and I told them my name “Frostbite”. The two strange kitties and one told me that his name was “Shadowpaw”and the her kitty said that her name was “Stormy”. I thought that hope is not lost at all! I might get along with these two cats I thought.

Stormy said she knew a place were we all could hide and rest  I and Shadowpaw both agreed to go so we went. It was a cave with lots of food to eat.

Student led conference

Lincoln's end of year student led conference. He went over his IB binder of work throughout the year.  On the bulletin board, he drew himself as a the living in the rainforest "biome".

We celebrated afterward.  Quoc asked him where he wanted to eat and he said. Oiishi.  His favorites are salmon sashimi, Edamame, and shrimp tempura.  He said he doesn't like the rice on sushi, "it's not good like the rice you make." :)

Lincoln is a swimmer!

The boys just finished their first swimming class!  Lincoln is a confident swimmer.  He even jumped off Chau & Vinh's diving board into 11 ft. and swam all the way to the other side of the pool!  We are so proud of him!

Lincoln lost his 1st bottom tooth!

He went downstairs this morning and felt his tooth and out it came!  It didn't hurt and barely bled.  Good thing he didn't swallow it during breakfast at school. :).

Tooth number 3 is still so exciting!!!

Mother's Day

I was excited to receive Lincoln's school made Mother's Day present and he was excited to give it to me. :). He drew a picture of me and wrote a letter to me on the back.  He also answered some questions about me on a "purse".  He likes to go swimming with me, appreciates that I take him to the park and pack lunch for him.  He likes my hugs and kisses.  Love it!!
