At the foot massage:
About a third of the way into the massage-
Grandma: Do you have cash?
Me: Yes, how much do you need?
Grandma: a hundred or two
Me: (Wow, that's exactly how much I have, 2 $100 bills.). I do, what do you need it for?
Grandma: this man is doing a great job, I'd like to pay him well for his services
Me: lol, I got it Grandma.
Grandma: (in VN to the Chinese masseuse) you're doing a good job, I'm gonna refer the whole village to you. We have a lot of people in my village.
Me: Lol (giving the man a thumbs up). She likes you.
Back at my moms-
Me: Mom, did Carter sleep well?
Grandma: oh yeah, he was still asleep when I got back from church.
Me: you just got back from church? What about your massage?
Grandma: what massage? And where are these boys' mom, why are you having to watch them?
Lmao
I heart you Ba Ngoai.
Even though she didn't remember our massage from 15 minutes earlier, we shared a special hour together.
Alzheimer's sure does rob you from your quality of life. Sometimes making memories doesn't mean remembering the past; it means enjoying the present.
